Laura LeHew is an award winning poet whose work appears in a myriad of national and international journals and anthologies. Her chapbook, Beauty, published by Tiger's Eye Press in 2009, is in its second printing. She received her MFA in writing from California College of Arts, a residency from Soapstone, interned for CALYX Journal an independent publisher of literature and art by women, and was nominated for a Pushcart. She is the vice-president of the board of directors of the Oregon State Poetry Association (OSPA), is a co-coordinator of the OSPA Eugene/Springfield chapter-Springfield Library Reading Series, and is a former OSPA Contest Chair. Laura was on the Board of the Roving Park Players an itinerant community theater company. She is currently a member of the Lane Literary Guild's steering committee and facilitates a critique group the Let Them Eat Cake Poets.

She is currently working on a collection of poems entitled Thirst which explores the alcoholic dementia of her little sister and a collection entitled Silence which is more experimental in nature and looks at the negative spaces-what is not said.

She has eight cats, one husband, and never sleeps.
